Locally-based Cornish Tea & Coffee Company have won many awards including a Taste Of The West award for their fine brews. As a family business with four generations’ experience stretching back to the 1800s, they were one of the first companies in the south west to import and hand roast coffee. Their list of customers include Richard Branson’s Virgin group, Jamie Oliver’s restaurants and of course China Fleet!
I just love a cuppa any time of day and it seems I’m not alone; we drink 165 million cups of tea and approximately 95 million cups of coffee per day!
As well as tasting great, did you know there are many health benefits too?
A report from the World Health Organisation said that coffee may help reduce the risks of heart disease, strokes (in women), Parkinson disease and Alzheimer’s disease.
Research also showed that people who drink coffee regularly have significantly lower risk of getting type 2 diabetes
According to the Tea Advisory Panel, just four cups of tea with milk provides 21% of daily calcium requirement.
Plus, tea is a source of the minerals manganese, essential for bone growth and body development, and potassium, vital for maintaining body fluid levels.
What more of an excuse do you need?! Celebrate National Coffee Day and enjoy a cup of Cornish coffee this week or weekend, in The Cabin, Brasserie or Atlantic Suite (the new temporary Lounge Bar)…perhaps with a sweet treat too!
